Homer Council on the Arts is excited to once again host these exceptional musicians for Master classes in fiddle and guitar! The Fire is a high-energy "pure drop" Scottish music band, with world class fiddling in combination with bagpipes, guitar, bodhran, whistle, and bouzouki. These charismatic performers, presented in partnership with the 8th Annual Kachemak Bay Scottish Club Highland Games on July 6, will enliven the Homer community with their entertaining and informative stage banter, vast array of instrument combinations, and extensive repertoire. Intimate workshops with Scottish musicians of this caliber are not to be missed!
July 5: 1:00 - 2:30 pm Scottish Fiddle Master Class with Rebecca Lomnicky (registration at 12:30pm)
Advanced fiddle course appropriate for fiddle students in the Homer area. Students will bring their instruments to play during the class, which will teach Scottish tunes, styling, technique, and ornaments. Non-fiddling students will be welcome to listen in to this class.
July 5: 3:00 - 4:30 Guitar in the DADGAD Tuning with Adam Hendey (registration at 2:30pm)

Students will be expected to bring their guitars to practice the exercises, chord shapes, and music taught by Mr. Hendey. Non-guitar-playing students are also welcome to listen.
Workshops will be held at the HCOA gallery, 355 W. Pioneer Ave. Classes are each $22 online or $20 cash/check; scholarships are available - contact Peggy at email@example.com. Please complete a registration form and confirm payment to secure your spot!
