Registration now open!
Now in its second year, this program of bi-weekly art classes with a new focus each month gives kids a solid foundation in art theory while having fun learning new skills and creating different monthly projects. Taught by local artists Carly Garay & Amy Komar and beginning with DRAWING in September, Art a la Carte will keep your kids crazy about art!
Kids love the fun energy of rotating art projects and learning new skills. (Parents love the curriculum aligned with district standards, structured to connect art history and renowned artists, develop technical skills, and practice critical evaluation. Each month’s classes will feature a new art form like Intuitive painting, Printmaking, or building dream boxes, and build artistic skills cumulatively.)
Classes are open to grades 3-6, and meet in the West Homer Elementary Art Room from 2:45-4:30pm every Tuesday and Thursday beginning Sept. 10.
Note: if current negotiations result in a strike, KPBSD buildings might be closed but the Art a la Carte program will continue at HCOA's gallery! Parents would be responsible for transportation, Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:45-4:30 at 355 W. Pioneer Ave. or could receive a credit toward a future program if necessary.
