WHAT’S BEYOND - SECOND MONTH

∆ Textiles, Painting, and Pottery ∆ Retrospective Work ∆
Show extended into a second month, with new work on display
In the artist‘s words:
"...I have always created something. I take what’s at hand and make something out of it – be it a meal from whatever is in the fridge, kelp washed on the beach, piece of mud, fabric scraps, ball of yarn.
I like to experiment and explore. I like to take one small path, follow it, curious to see where it will lead, what’s beyond the corner. Sometimes I will go the same route again, but I will want to check out the next path and another.
This show marks the end of 9 years I have permanently lived in this country and 5 years in Homer. During these 9 years, I have learned a lot and changed a lot. 10 years ago I didn’t know anything about quilting and hadn’t worked with clay, I thought I will never paint on canvas. 10 years ago I could not imagine that at an age when most people look forward to retirement, I will restart my life again from scratch. But I am curious to see where the new path will lead me, what’s beyond the corner..."
Exhibit re-opening is scheduled for Friday, Aug 2 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at HCOA, 355 W. Pioneer. The exhibit will be up all month; gallery is open 1:00 – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
