The Nutcracker Faire is a sustainable venue for original and handmade art, designed and created by artists living and working on the Kenai Peninsula. Held during opening weekend of the Nutcracker Ballet, this event brings the entire community together to celebrate our local talent.
A four-week session creating ornaments out of natural materials based on the Latvian tradition of Puzuri. Students will gather grasses, reeds, and other natural items to create chandeliers, lanterns, and other decorative items. The last class, November 29th is family oriented creating flat stars, potato stars, birds, and lanterns. Others will work on their individual projects for exhibition for the Nutcracker Faire. Finished items will be displayed in HCOA gallery during December and January.
