The quiet months of winter are a wonderful time to collaborate, create and prepare something new to sustain us until spring’s light and warmth return.

Our mission is to bring performers out of the woodwork and together so they may create performances that build on the strengths of established artists and the zeal and passion of emerging artists.

Never performed before? We want you!

You may see a fiber artist’s work costuming a dancer or an unknown accompanist working with a singer you love. If you have always wanted to perform with a marimba band or dance to a live rock combo this might be the event for you.

We will try to make sure that acts selected for the Winter showcase will follow these guidelines: - For established artists, they should work together with an emerging artist. - If an established artist has a ‘hidden’, previously unknown talent, they may perform without an emerging artist. - New, unknown artists may perform alone if they choose, or we will endeavor to pair them with established artists if they need.

The Showcase Director, Victoria Wilson Winne, will review performance ideas and make suggestions for emerging and established artist matches. Performers are welcome to create their own collaborative matches incorporating music, dance, visual art, theater or spoken word. Bring ALL ideas!

Performance reviews at Homer Council on the Arts.:
Sunday November 20 at 2pm
Saturday November 26 at 2pm Friday January 6 at 5pm Sunday January 8 at 2pm

This is just the beginning. Come with your idea and a sample of where you are and tell us about where you want to go with your performance. From there, we will assist you in creating a performance for on stage.

Please be aware that time commitment with rehearsals and performance is a minimum of 10 hours. Performers may reserve rehearsal space at HCOA . Victoria will begin group rehearsals at the end of January so that when the show moves to the Mariner theater for rehearsals, all artists/ensembles are performance ready.

Rehearsals are mandatory, please be on time.
