Jubilee : Brand New Day

As we start 2019 we look to the future here at Homer Council on the Arts; not just because it’s the start of a new year but because it is the beginning of something new here at the organization.

March, 2019 in the Mariner Auditorium, a cast of remarkable youth artists will embark on a journey unlike any we have ever seen. Utilizing spoken word as the through dialogue, “Jubilee: A Brand New Day” tells the story of our community. Through jubilant sights and sounds, non-traditional staging and bold new lighting displays, this production is bound to create a revitalization of spirit within us all.

The youth artists and performers come to us from Homer Middle School and Homer High School. Over the winter, auditions and workshops will lead up to an almost two month long rehearsal process in order to establish and build a true artistic team.

To lead this dynamic band of youth artists we enlisted the help of Jessica Williams, who acts as a director and mentor to our students. She looks to her cast to fill many of the technical positions in the show, from assistant director to costume designer.

Each piece of this production will reignite your commitment to both our organization and this community.

Please join us March, 2019.
