The community of Homer is asked to make nominations for the annual awards. Nomination forms are made available to the public in October, and are due in the HCOA office by the second week in December. The HCOA Board of Directors decides the winners based on the nominations, and presents the awards at the Annual meeting in January. The following awards are granted annually:
- Arts Leadership/Advocacy
- Arts Education
- Youth Artist of the Year
- Artist of the Year
- Arts Lifetime Achievement
- Business Arts Patron.
