Kenai Peninsula Writers’ Contest

Events

For 19 years the Homer Council on the Arts has teamed up with the Homer News to present an opportunity for new and seasoned writers to receive public recognition. Thank you to the Homer News for supporting this event from the beginning. This year HCOA will take the reins and carry on the tradition.

The contest is open to three traditional genres: fiction, nonfiction and poetry, to students kindergarten through high school, and adults. First place and honorable mention entries are awarded cash prizes and winning entries are published on the Homer Council on the Arts website. Winners are invited to participate in a scheduled reading for the public.

This is another wonderful way to showcase the often hidden talents of your friends, family and neighbors in the greater Kenai Peninsula.
